Why did Roberto Baggio transfer from Inter to Brescia ?

In wikipedia it says it was in order to be called fro the 2002 fifa world cup?

Does this make sense? couldnt he be called from inter?|||During his two year spell at Inter 1998-2000 , a string of coaches came and went : Simoni , Lucescu , Castellini , Hogdson , and worst of all Lippi.

After the 1998 World Cup, Baggio signed with Internazionale. This proved to be an unfortunate move, as the then coach Marcello Lippi did not favour Baggio. This caused Baggio to lose his place in the national team. In his autobiography, Baggio later declared that Lippi had effectively dumped him after Baggio had refused to point out which Inter's players had expressed negative opinions about the coach. His last contribution to Inter was two goals against Parma in the playoff for the last remaining UEFA Champions League place.

He therefore lost a place for the successful Euro 2000 squad , and decided a move to Brescia in the summer of 2000. He was immediately appointed captain of the club and made a tremendous impact on their fortunes. Unfortunately , he suffered a serious injury at the start of the 2001-2002 season right before the WC 2002. Even though he recovered before the end of the season , he did not play enough games to impress national team coach Giovanni Trappatoni and was not picked for the WC 2002. He did however , play a "farewell" retirement game for Italy in 2004.
