How do you find the inter quartile range of a graph?
Its for my maths homework, I have a graph about the heights of boys in a class,
The x axis is for the heights and goes from 120 - 170 although the line stops at 160
The y axis has the cumulative frequency, goes from 0-50 although the line does not go above 40.
I REALLY don't understand it.

Those are the quartiles, and the IQR is the higher quartile minus the lower quartile.
Like if there were 40 total frequency, the median would be between the 20th and 21st number.So for the first 20 numbers that median (which is the lower quartile) is between the 10th and 11th number (add them and divide by 2)
while the upper quartile is between the 30th and 31st number
so find those and subtract

What it is that is common to high blood pressure, heart ailment and diabetes? Are all inter connected?
As an observation, it seems when one has high blood it comes next that he has heart ailment or diabetes. What's the connection and what is the prevention on this?|||Actually, I see diabetes first, then high blood pressure %26amp; cardiac complications...if we are connecting all three. DM over time takes it's toll on blood vessels affecting circulation, leading to BP problems and/or cardiac problems....and kidney problems....which enhances high BP problems...and so goes the circle when each affects each.
Now, without diabetes in the picture, high BP (not controlled) can cause heart problems and kidney dysfunction.
There may well be a higher incidence of DM with hypertension....I would guess if this were true then the pancreas was affected by the hypertention as the heart and kidneys are affected.|||I've noticed same thing. If that atmosphere prevails than everything fine to maintain harmony in long lived marriage life .|||Any marriage is a big adjustment for both parties. It is even harder for couples of different race/culture.
It can work, but it takes a lot of hard work and a very strong commitment by both.
You must both be willing to compromise. Think of it as a learning adventure and try to make the differences a fun adventure. Why is it not easy for black women to date inter-racially but easy for everyone else?
Whites, Asians and every other ethnicity can easily date inter-racially but black women?|||.I've seen plenty of black women with partners who were not black, but I cannot speak for how difficult it may be for any black woman who desires a non-black partner, to find one. How common was inter-racial mixing between native american and whites in the 17 and 1800's?
I'm reading a fiction novel where a white woman marries a native american. It was set in the late 1700s, and I'm just wondering if that was even heard of in those days? White people didn't seem too accepting of anyone outside of their race back then so this seems a little unlikely.

I am looking to study in Inter American University. Specifically, I think I'd be looking into attending the campus in Ponce as this seems to be the one which offers my major, International Business. My question is, does this school have dormitories for students? I reckon it could be something magnetic underneath the sea that interfers with the equipment. I don't know what that magnetic thing is - it could be some alien spacecraft for all i know!
My other idea, is perhaps there is something there that someone/something doesn't want us to find, so it is protected by something that causes planes and boats to go missing. I think maybe the boats could be deliberately sunk and the planes brought down by *something*. Maybe its something... magical? ^.^ Like evil, zombie underwater unicorns.
I have an extremely crazy idea aswell (that surprisingly doesnt have any scientific flaws), but I thought it was too long, so I decided to just use the above :)
Oh and there is apparently a time warp over it, since a guy went over it in a plane and managed to complete a 1 hour journey in 3 minutes, after all these clouds started swirling around him. It's a genuine thing - they even have proof on the radar, clocks and voice recordings. It's incredible.|||They stay at the bottom of the ocean because is not that "sucks" things, is that there is a weird thing happening there that messes up with the instruments or compases and there are also storms and really bad whether so ships sink and planes crash and they stay at the bottom of the ocean and they're hard to find for the same reason. How did conservative politics and religion get so inter-twined in the USA?
I asked in the Politics section but no one in there really understand the question - they just seem to feel insulted and yell their mantras through cyberspace. I've noticed that even though the Tea Party started out as a libertarian movement it's now full of Christian nuts. Why do conservative politics and Christianity go hand-in-hand in America? What's the history here?|||I think that it had a lot to do with the "family values" movement that developed in the 80's under Reagan and the push for the GOP to expand its base and distinguish itself from the Democrats who had been largely perceived to have been taken over by progressives and moral relativists. There was definitely a conscious push by the GOP to frame itself as the "values" party, as in Christian values.|||There's a common idea (an incorrect idea) that religion and morality are mutually exclusive. Conservative politicians have seized this as an opportunity to garner support from religious citizens. They make an effort to appear to be strongly religious (their actions tend to be evidence of the opposite) in order to give the impression that they are the candidate with the better morals. It's that simple, really. That's why voting based on religion is unwise. It's something that's very easy to fake. I'm not saying that politicians who claim to be religious aren't. I'm just saying that those who try to make themselves look religious don't tend to be as religious as they would have you believe. For the most part, they're just greedy.|||Easy. Guy named Karl Rove. He noticed this large voting block that had no allegiance to either party, but did have a strong activist agenda. He stuck items from their agenda on the Republican party platform. It earned enough swing vote to win the 2000 and 2004 elections for Bush.

Since the Christian right puts no stress on charity -- because we aren't saved by works -- they see Democratic liberalism as a threat to moral values. Libertarians, meanwhile, ally to Republicans because the Republicans keep chanting 'small government', which is what Libertarians want to hear. But they need to open their eyes as well as their ears. When a Republican says 'small government' he means 'less tax and less regulation for big business' and not anything on the Libertarian agenda.|||It's all about power and money. People who adhere to rigid belief systems are easy marks for opportunistic politicians (civil and religious). These folks use emotion in place of reason, are terribly insecure about any questioning of their faith (which they view as an attack), and are very "cause-oriented" in the sense they are consumate joiners and are fanatically obedient to their cause. It isn't just Christian supremacists that this pertains to. This includes the militant wings of Islam, Hindusim, Judaism, and yes, even Buddhism.|||Christianity was created as a form of government. They try to use their religion to gain power and it was worked out very well for them all through out their history.
This started with the catholic church and persists to this day. Even in nations that were founded on secularism and tolerance.....

His books included "Death in the City", "The God Who is There", "Escape From Reason", "He is There and He is Not Silent", "Whatever Happened to the Human Race", "How Should We Then Live?", and "A Christian Manifesto". A very articulate writer and speaker, he spoke about how western culture was being torn loose from it's Christian moorings and was drifting into secular humanism, a belief that puts man at the center of all things rather than God. Abortion and a break down in morality were merely symptoms of this philosophical shift.
Men such as Jerry Falwell, founder of the Moral Majority, and Pat Robertson of the 700 club, James Dobson of Focus on the Family, and James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries, began to echo these sentiments and mobilized foot soldiers from the "silent majority", consisting of conservative Christians, in order to have their moral views represented in the public square rather than just allowing liberals to run roughshod over the values that made America great.
Unfortunately, over time these moral crusades became too closely aligned with the republican party politics, mainly because the democratic party was more interested in catering to the special interest groups for abortion and gay rights rather than taking a stand for protecting life and moral values. Thus being Christian became synonymous with being a republican, and the gospel message was needlessly politicized.
There was a time when mainstream religious in America often voted Democratic, because the social agenda of Democratic politics fit better with Christian charity. Libertarians often voted Democratic too, because Democratic politics were about giving individuals more liberty and more opportunity. That began to change in 1968 when Richard Nixon won on a platform of 'law and order' -- using the idea that the 'joy, love and peace' movement of the 60's had gone too far. (Well, it had; but then it was a backlash to the excessive anti-communist conservatism of the 50s). Then we had the economic crisis of the 70s and the regulation crises of the 80s....
Nowadays every item on the Democratic social agenda is met by Republicans with the twin accusations 'tax and spend' and 'big government', and every item concerning more individual liberty, opportunity and diversity is met with 'anti-terrorism' or 'erosion of the family'. Since the Christian right puts no stress on charity -- because we aren't saved by works -- they see Democratic liberalism as a threat to moral values. Libertarians, meanwhile, ally to Republicans because the Republicans keep chanting 'small government', which is what Libertarians want to hear. But they need to open their eyes as well as their ears. When a Republican says 'small government' he means 'less tax and less regulation for big business' and not anything on the Libertarian agenda.|||It's all about power and money. People who adhere to rigid belief systems are easy marks for opportunistic politicians (civil and religious). These folks use emotion in place of reason, are terribly insecure about any questioning of their faith (which they view as an attack), and are very "cause-oriented" in the sense they are consumate joiners and are fanatically obedient to their cause. It isn't just Christian supremacists that this pertains to. This includes the militant wings of Islam, Hindusim, Judaism, and yes, even Buddhism.|||Christianity was created as a form of government. They try to use their religion to gain power and it was worked out very well for them all through out their history.
This started with the catholic church and persists to this day. Even in nations that were founded on secularism and tolerance.....

I want to study something like exercise science, sports medicine, or athletic training. Could I go to the athletic office at the college im attending to get a internship or voulenteer? How come inter-racial marriage hasn't destroyed the morals of the country like the conservatives said it would?
remember how in the 1940s and '50s the churches and religious conservatives said that if interracial marriage were legalized, it would decrease the moral standards our country is based on and cheapen everyone else's marriage and so on and so forth? How come that didn't happen? Deco seems done, Elano doesn't have it in my opinion who could Inter get as I'm hoping they can win the CL?|||Inter area after Siena midfielder Daniele Galloppa , and I would say he will be really good for inter he is young and has been playing really well for Sienna.He has earned a Italy call up too and is reportedly cost about 8 Million Pounds.

I just bought an x box 360 and i am afraid i will get the red ring o death so i was thinking about buying the inter cooler so my xbox wont overheat but people told me it doesn't really work so i need to know if it works or not.|||Yes, I advise you to buy an inter cooler, because if you play for extended sessions, your Xbox could possibly overheat, and then the one thing you never want to see will turn up, which is the Red Ring Of Dooom!

What's the best way to travel inter-island in the Bahamas?
I am planning my honeymoon to the Bahamas, but can't seem to find much reliable transportation to explore other islands. I've seen something about mail boats, and there are flights that can be done, but the flights can be fairly expencive from what I have seen (around $200+). Are there any recomendations for traveling to explore different islands and see good places?|||i recently went there this past december, you should definitely fly bahamas air. Why do Cessna 172 SP aircraft tires have inter tubes?
I believe all Cessna single engine aircraft have tires with inter tubes. Why not tubeless tires?|||general aviation aircraft have split wheels, tubes must be used. The tube is placed in the tire when changing then the wheel half's are pushed into place then bolted together. Air or nitrogen is then used to bring the tire pressure to specification.|||The rims are not airtight.|||To better handle the impact from hard landings. Otherwise with just rims any impact would blow the tire.|||Probably cheaper and easier to fix if you have a blowout in a remote location.

I'm planning a 3 month trip to Europe and would like to know how much a typical train ticket cost. Not like Orient Express from Paris to Istanbul, but like, say, London-Paris, Monaco-Milan, Berlin-Hamburg.
I know there is no fixed price cos they differ with the distance and destination, but I want a rough estimate.

It is THE BEST. I got a ticket from Seville to London at around $40. It is an Irish company that serves all of Europe for severly reduced prices. Keep your eyes peeled for amazing deals, but remember that you have to add the taxes and fees to the advertised price. My ticket up there was only $0.02 without the taxes and fees.
www.easyjet.com is also very, very, very good, but they just service different places.
I would say that if you are savvy at all, you should pay from $40 to $100 for each single ticket.
