What are the 5 vital signs and how are they inter-related?

What are the 5 vital signs and how are they inter-related?|||temp pulse respiration's blood pressure and the fifth vital sign... pain! and your heart rate will increase to compensate for a low blood pressure. think of it this way... the blood needs to get around to all the tissues in your body because the blood carries oxygen and your tissues need oxygen to live. if your BP is low, which may be caused by a decreased fluid volume i.e. from dehydration (the less blood in your vessels the lower the pressure in your vessels) then your heart will beat faster in order to move the blood and oxygen around faster and get it back to the heart faster so that it can be re-oxygenated. The less you've got to work with the harder you have to work to keep the machine going. Pain produces anxiety and stimulates the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) your heart rate will increase as well as your respiration's as your body prepares for action. respirations and heart rate up = more blood and oxygen to your muscles and the more prepared you are to fight or flight. And your temp? well if your temp is up it's usually a sign of infection or from an outside influence.. such as our good friend the sun :) he might raise your temp a few degrees on a hot day. idk how this might effect your other vital signs exept if youre cold then your blood vessels will vasoconstrict in order to keep the blood closer to your core which will raise your BP and when you're hot they will relax which will lower your BP|||You know the four easy ones. The fifth vital sign is pain. Get to the books. P.S. pain is what the patient says it is. Heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temp. With pain, the BP, HR and Res p. Rate can increase.

The heart rate will increase to raise the BP the key word is HOMEOSTASIS, the body compensates Good Luck,|||In no particular order:

1) Pulse (hear rate)

2) Blood pressure

3) Temperature

4) Respiratory rate

5) Pain

You can use your common sense to see how they are interelated. An example would be as pain increases generally blood pressure does as well. There are many relations between them.|||Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respirations, Temperature, Pain.|||g
