I want to transfer from a high school in LUSD(Lodi Unified School District) to one in SUSD(Stockton Unified School District). I want to be able to take the classes provided in SUSD and want to walk with my cousin during graduation. What must I do? Can I e-mail each district to have the inter-district agreement happen?|||Transfers of the type you are interested in must be handled by your parents. They must go to the district offices of both school districts and explain the purpose of the transfer, get permission from both school districts for you to attend a school in a district different from where you live, and fill out forms registering you in the new school. Will it be easy? Probably not. School districts operate on tax money, and your parents pay taxes to the Lodi district, not Stockton. So there will have to be some sort of adjustment on how their taxes are applied to your schooling, and that kind of adjustment is complicated and messy. Your best course of action is to prepare to be told that you will have to attend the school located in the district where your family lives.|||First of all, what you will need to do is get a inter-district transfer. These are normally provided by the schools office, but if they are not then you can go to the San Joaquin County Office of Education. It is just south of stockton near the airport. In most cases, your home school will be good enough and they can help you out.
Second of all - WHY??? Lodi Unified School District is MUCH better than any of the High Schools that Stockton has to offer. McNair is horrible, and Bear Creek is not much better, but if that is your problem then it is MUCH easier to jsut get an intra-distrect transfer to either Tokay or Lodi High. I go to Tokay right now and it is MUCH better than the Stockton school that I transfered from! The LUSD is much more organized and "complete" than the SUSD. Trust me, no one in the right mind would pass up LUSD for SUSD!!!
One more quick fact...IF you stay in LUSD, you can graduate junior year if you get enought units AND if you are a stellar student you can take Classes at Delta College for FREE alongside highschool. Free college units eh?
