Barcelona only won La Liga...they failed to even win the Copa Del Rey....Inter win the Scuddeto, the Copa Italia, the Champions League AND the Club world cup.
Secondly, why does Barcelona have such a bandwagon fan base? I bet if Real Madrid win La Liga and the Champions League this year, most of them will change teams.
Your thoughts?|||1. The Spanish Liga is considered more competitive than the Italian Seria A by most fans, it seems.
2. Inter Milan won the treble, but Bar莽a in 2009 won SIX titles (treble plus Spanish Super Copa, European Super Cup, and the World Cup of football clubs). Inter won "only" 5. Not as landmark an achievement.
3. The World Cup champions from Spain in 2010 had for the most part Bar莽a players (goalkeeper Iker Casillas of Real Madrid a notable exception) playing a distinct game patterned on the Bar莽a style.
4. Leo Messi plays for Bar莽a. There is no player in Inter Milan of his worldwide reputation.
5. The three leading players for football player of the year were all from Bar莽a! Messi, Xavi Hern谩ndez and Andr茅s Iniesta. In fact, I thought Xavi or Andr茅s should have won it, because you should also count the World Cup in deciding this. Leo Messi is a phenomenal player when he plays with great midfielders such as in the Bar莽a team. That shows how important Xavi and Iniesta are.
So Bar莽a is right now, the best bet for best team in the world. In the current competitions, the way they've been playing and winning is unbelievable. Not only do they win, but they absolutely tear opponents' apart (including Real MadridI in doing so.
But you're right: if Bar莽a doesn't win the Liga and Champions League, I wonder what at least some fans will say. But I think that any team which has Leo Messi will be real popular.|||This is because Barcelona are a very good team to watch and quite a successful team to boot. They have a large following in Catalonia because of their playing style. They don't always win every trophy on offer, but the way they play means that they will win trophies on a regular basis at some point.
Barcelona have a lot of fans all over the world because of the way they are marketed. A lot of football sites and fan sites portray Barcelona as the more 'fashionable' team instead of Real Madrid.
Inter Milan are a giant club in Italy, Barcelona are a giant in Spain.|||Inter Milan were the best team in the world LAST season. This season (well for the start of it anyway) they looked a fraction of the team they used to be, though they are finally finding their mojo again.
Barca this season have been consistent as usual and anyone who understands football will know that they are currently stronger than any other club out there. But yes their fan base in extremely large and a majority of their "online fans" basically are on the bandwagon.|||Do you want us to call "The best team in the world " a team that is struggling to get into the top 4 of serie A, you must be kidding me.
Inter won the champions league last year and somehow they deserved to but that was LAST SEASON.
