What is the significance of lower quartiles, upper quartiles, and inter-quartile range?

What is the lower quartiles, upper quartiles, and inter-quartile range used for? In daily life? Why do we learn it?|||Hello there,

Quartiles are used to split the data up into parts. The lower quartile cuts off the lowest 25% of data, the upper cuts off the highest 25% of data. The inner quartile range is the difference between the upper and lower quartile values.

Now as far as applications go, the general answer is statistics. Now I know that seems like a broad answer, but it's the correct one. For example, if you're interested in the data closest to the "median", than you may be interested in looking at the values in the inter-quartile range, which would be 50% of the data. Rather than ramble on, statistics can be used in any number of fields and or purposes.

Hope this helps, enjoy.
